Laura McCaughey

Laura is a student at Western Illinois University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice then plans to continue on to the Masters in Clinical Counseling program. Utilizing her experience from overcoming her own substance use disorder, Laura spent six years volunteering with a local, non-profit, harm reduction organization and continues to work with substance users inside Scott County Jail as a peer support advocate. Laura’s biggest accomplishment is her four year old daughter, who also loves helping others. Laura’s core belief is to empower others through sharing hope and encourage solution focused practices.
